Rarely do emergencies happen when we are prepared. Emergencies also often occur when members of the family are not together. A first aid kit will also help to ensure lives are saved at the early crucial moments. Usually, the most damage occurs during the first few hours of a disaster. A first aid kit would therefore be very important in such a situation.
Equally important is the availability of qualified first aid practitioners. everyone in the family should study at least the basics.
It is a good idea to have a good folding knife or a good multi-tool that can perform many functions. This can come in very hand in an emergency situation.
You can survive without food but water is essential so be certain you have enough for a minimum of three or for days. Have extra for hygiene and cooking.
